Canalside Farm near Stafford is holding a fabulous Christmas event this weekend – on Saturday 16th December. All the details below.
Canalside Farm’s Christmas Extravaganza will include everything you need to get you into the festive spirit including Mulled Wine, Christmas tastings, a musical quartet and workshops for the children. The event will run from 9am to 5pm, and with free admission and free parking, it’s a great day out for all the family.
Local brewery Slaters will also be there with a wide range of local beers and ales for customers to try, including the Farm’s very own Ale, made exclusively for Canalside.
Owners Chris and Wendy Barton said:
“We wanted to do something to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and make that whole Christmas shopping experience a pleasure rather than a chore. We therefore came up with a day of tasty treats and entertainment, where people could get all their Christmas shopping done, whilst keeping the kids amused and not having the stress of finding somewhere to park and battling against the crowds. We are extremely lucky to be situated right next to the canal and so even in the Winter it is a great place to come and relax and unwind.”

There will be plenty to keep the children entertained with two Festive Table Workshops taking place at 10am and Midday, where they can unleash their creative side whilst getting into the Christmas spirit. They will learn how to transform 3 simple glass jars into an impressive snow-dome; a floating candle and a jute wrapped festive pot. The children will then be able to take home their finished jars and use them as decorations or give them to their loved ones as a unique, personal gift. Tickets must be pre-booked and cost just £10 per child, including all the materials and a cup of warming hot chocolate (the accompanying adult goes free).
The Farm’s Café will also be open, serving a wide variety of locally sourced food and drink, including fruit and vegetables fresh from the Farm and meat straight from their Butchery Counter. A traditional Christmas lunch will also be available, but pre-booking is essential.
And talking of Christmas lunch, it will be the last day for Christmas meat orders and Head Butcher Ashley Moore and his team will be on hand at the Butchery Counter to give you plenty of help and advice. It will also be the last day for hampers and cheese board orders too.
