Forget the muted colours, summer is here and it’s all about being bright and bold. As clothes become more sparing (weather permitting), your accessories need to take the forefront.
Without your clothes to do the talking your watch and jewellery are going to have a lot to say. Make sure they are saying the right thing for you. And don’t forget your sunglasses are not just for protecting your eyes.
With summer comes an array of fun activities that aren’t really suitable for the winter months and you will need to be prepared.
The sun is shining and the water is warm (well warmish if you live in the UK) so it’s time to hit the golden sands. The essentials begin with sun cream and plenty of water of course but the fashion essentials begin with a decent sized bag for all your bits and bobs. Remember it has to withstand the sand and the splashes of the sea so leather is out. Filling your bag is easy; a good book, a comfy towel, and a stylish watch – timing is everything for an even tan.
Having dinner late at night outside is such a treat. Whether it’s outside a restaurant or a bbq in your back garden there is something magical about getting to dine under the stars. Why not gather a group of friends and show off your new tan from the beach. If you are feeling a bit nervous that it’s not quite there yet a brightly coloured watch and accessories can highlight it. Rose gold is the perfect partner in crime for this.
If the thoughts of getting sand between your toes (and possibly elsewhere) horrifies you then the pool is your safe haven. Typically reserved for the holiday it truly does give off a sense of relaxation, especially if it serves some nicely coloured fruit drinks (wink wink). Embrace the theme of the cocktail hour and go big, bright, and bold with your accessory colouring. Remember though if you are sunbathing the less accessories the better….fewer tan lines.
Something we are not short of in the UK is beautiful green areas to have a picnic. Even the back garden is perfect for throwing down a blanket and grabbing some paper plates. If venturing further afield then you’ll need to dress up for the occasion. Whether going casual or picnic chic you’ll need a great pair of sunglasses and a fashionable watch to complete any look. True picnic style involves a wicker basket and a checkered blanket which is reminiscent of the 1920’s and you could indulge in this style further with a stylish sunglasses/watch combo envious of any Great Gatsby character.
If you have had enough of the British summer, or lack thereof, it’s time to hit the runway. Take off on your well earned holiday with fashionable accessories in toe. Luggage is your best friend and worst enemy all rolled into you. It allows you to bring that favourite swimsuit but sometimes restricts you from bringing your second, third, and fourth favourites. Once you have checked in the luggage it’s all about stylish travel so why not go for a matching bag and purse. Perfect for easy access to the essentials and tres chic as a travelling companion. You can even match the colour of your watch to upscale your look and never miss your flight.
